Women’s Guild

The Women’s Guild of The Church in Aurora is a community of women who join together in faith and fellowship to foster spiritual growth and to serve God, the church and the community.

Membership is open to all women of The Church in Aurora’s congregation and the greater community who share our purpose.

Women’s Guild has responded financially to the needs of the church and the greater community through special fundraising events like the Rummage Sales in April and September. A few of the organizations that have received support from Women’s Guild include: Haven House, Safer Futures, Habitat for Humanity, Miller Community House, Freedom House, Safe Path and Coleman Center of Excellence for Children, as well as various ministries of The Church in Aurora.

All women of the church and community are invited to join us for fun and fellowship. Meetings of the Women’s Guild take place at 11:30 on the second Wednesday of the month from September through May for lunch and a program in Fellowship Hall. Join us! We’re saving a place for you at our table.

The Circles of Women’s Guild

Women’s Guild presently supports four circles or smaller groups, which provide additional opportunities for fellowship, fun and service. All members of the church and community are invited to visit or join these circles at any time. Contact the church for additional information at 330-562-8266.

Circle B meets at the Aurora Inn for lunch at 11:30 AM, followed by bridge, on the second and fourth Mondays of each month (January – December).

Circle D meets at Club Walden at noon for lunch, followed by rousing games of  Bridge or Skip-Bo on the first Wednesday of each month (except January) September – May.

Circle 3-H “Helping Hands Bring Hope” is a “hands-on” circle which meets on the first Friday of each month (September-May, excluding January), at 10:00 AM in Fellowship Hall, followed by an optional lunch at an area restaurant.  Annual dues are $20. Members of this circle provide backpacks and school supplies for needy children in our area. They fill Christmas mugs with candy, and wrap gifts of warm socks, hats and gloves for the homeless living in local shelters.  They make boxes of home-made Valentine’s Day chocolates in support of the Workcampers. They prepare monthly meals in coordination with Christian Education Youth for Haven Home, a Cleveland overflow homeless shelter. Two times a year, they visit various non-profit facilities in the area to discover their needs. Their hands are always busy and their hearts are always warm!

Circle PSM – Prayer Shawl Ministry (formerly 3-H PM circa 2003) meets from 6 to 8 pm on the second Thursday of each month (September-May) in the church Library. They do a devotional study and (optional) handiwork, which includes knitting and crocheting baby afghans, prayer shawls and prayer squares for the needy. This circle also adopts a VOA family for Christmas.

All of these circles are looking for new members. You are welcome to join them!
