One week of work teaches a lifetime of caring!
Group Cares offers a premier summer mission experience for teenagers. As the ultimate expression of Christian service, workcamps offer a fun, challenging, faith-building adventure teens (and adults) will never forget.
The Church in Aurora workcamps are sponsored by Group Cares and are intensive one-week, service-oriented mission trips. We offer our youth an opportunity to perform hands-on home repair projects for needy families, many of whom have seen their homes damaged by natural disasters or years of disrepair due to financial distress. Typical projects include carpentry, building wheelchair ramps, painting and dry wall. Our trips take us to areas within 7 hours of Aurora – towards the East Coast, South or Midwest – to help fix-up and repair homes that need a lot of love and care.
The Church in Aurora Workcamp mission trips have been offered each summer since 1995. One does not have to be a member to attend! If your child is at least 12 years old or has completed the sixth grade, and not yet 21, we welcome him/her to join us to make a difference in someone’s life!
Our Workcamp trips cost approximately $620.00 per person. The program is paid for with a personal $100 registration fee, donations from Women’s Guild and Missions and group fundraisers held throughout the year.
This activity is also a great way for adults to attend and “give back” to the youth and our extended community. If you are interested in being an adult leader (21 & above) and /or driver or have questions about how your teen can participate in this year’s trip, please contact:
A $100 registration fee made payable to The Church in Aurora with W.C. regis. on the Memo line can be given to the Eavensons, placed in TCIA Mailbox #41, or mailed to:
