Its Our Joy to Provide Food and Living Assistance to Our Neighbors in Need

Our assistance ministry, the Aurora Community Relief program, all began with a concerned phone call in March of 2020, at the onset of the coronavirus pandemic. That call from an Aurora City Schools counselor expressed concern as to how children enrolled in the school’s free and reduced lunch program could get adequate nutrition with the school closed.  This propelled us into action, asking “How Can We Help?”

Since then, we recognize and meet food and living needs each week, serving an average of 170 people from 55 different households.

We set out to simply help those who needed it, and we continue to do just that.

I have been so blessed to be a recipient of food and supplies and love and support from The Church in Aurora.”
It feels like getting a big, warm hug and has given me encouragement to continue to work hard and build a life for my kids and me knowing that there are people in the world who care. Their ministry gives me so much hope!
Every time I pick up my supplies from them, it’s just like Christmas!  I will never be able to thank them enough and I look forward to being able to pay everything forward.

This ministry relies solely on donations from individuals and granting organizations, such as the Portage Foundation.  100% of donations support families in need.
